Technology enhanced classrooms are located throughout the campus. These "Smart" classrooms are designed to enhance the integration of technology into the curriculum. With the construction of the new University Hall building, thirty-four classrooms have been equipped with the latest state-of-the-art equipment:
Polyvision Interactive Whiteboard (TS600 or TS800)The Polyvision Interactive Whiteboard digitally captures any notes written or projected onto the board, so your students can focus on the session content rather than concentrating on taking notes. Through the Dukane software loaded on every station, snapshots of images can also be saved onto the instructor computer, laptop or a variety of media.
NEC Wireless ProjectorEvery projector in UHB can be accessed through the wireless network and images displayed through student or instructor laptops. This capability also allows Educational Support staff the ability to troubleshoot potential problems even if they are not in the room.
Crestron Control SystemForget troublesome remotes or complicated screen menus. Each instructor station has a white Crestron control system which allows faculty to control all the equipment in the room through a simple button and touch screen display.
Panasonic DVD/VCR Combo PlayerAll classrooms are equipped with a combo player to allow the playback of both DVDs and VHS tapes. This player can also be completely controlled by the Crestron control system.
VGIS Close Captioning DeviceAll classrooms are equipped with a VGIS close captioning device to allow instructors to take advantage of any VHS tape that has close captioning capabilities.
Each classroom also has a 2.8 GHz Pentium IV Dell computer with 512 MB of RAM. Along with this, a connection is also available for instructor laptops [both PC and Macintosh compatible].
University Hall also has two lecture halls [UHB 2008, 2034] and one MIS computer lab [UHB 2025] which includes two wireless projectors and wireless microphone system. Besides this, they include all the other equipment mentioned above.
